Ironman Software was first founded in 2017 as a company to provide tooling for PowerShell in Visual Studio and has expanded far and wide to all types of organizations. It has grown through the years to help millions of users and thousands of companies improve their PowerShell development experience. In 2025, we are excited to announce our commitment to give back to the communities we are a part of and the environment that we all share.
PowerShell for the Planet is a new initiative from Ironman Software to help provide monetary donations to organizations that support the environment and local communities of our employees and users. We are committed to donating 1% of our revenue to these organizations this year. Over the next 5 years, we hope to grow this initiative to over 5% of our revenue.
As a midwestern company, we will currently target organizations focused around this region of the United States. Being able to make meaningful change in our local communities is important to us and allows us to bring home more than just a paycheck.
This year, we will be asking our employees to nominate organizations that they believe are making a difference in the environment or their local communities. We will then select and donate to organizations on a bi-monthly basis. As we do so, we will be sharing information about the organizations we are supporting and how you can get involved and why they are important to us.
As we move forward, we will be reaching out to our greater user base to provide feedback on organizations that may benefit from our support.
This program will be focused on supporting non-profit, non-partisan organizations that are primarily focused on the environment and local communities. We will be doing our best to vet and ensure that the organizations we support are making a meaningful impact, are transparent in their operations, and also align with our values. We hope to help build trail systems, protect natural resources, and raise up the communities that we are a part of.
Our first sponsorship is the Ice Age Trail Alliance. The Ice Age Trail Alliance is a non-profit volunteer and member-based organization established in 1958 that works to create, support, and protect the Ice Age National Scenic Trail. The Ice Age Trail is a thousand-mile footpath that highlights Wisconsin’s world-renowned Ice Age heritage and natural resources. The Alliance works to build, maintain, and promote the trail, as well as to protect and preserve the land surrounding it.
Being based in Madison, WI, the Ice Age Trail is a local treasure that we are proud to support. We are excited to be able to provide a donation to the Ice Age Trail Alliance to help them continue their mission to provide access to the scenic beauty of Wisconsin. The founder of Ironman Software, Adam Driscoll, uses this trail frequently and is sister a core member of the organization.
