I’m excited to announce that PowerShell Universal has officially joined Devolutions. Through this acquisition we will be able to scale PowerShell Universal while sticking to its core mission of enabling IT administrators and scripters to build accessible, powerful and secure automation solutions. PowerShell Universal was born from the open-source community and that vision remains unchanged. Devolutions shares these same values and will continue to focus on openness, collaboration and long-term sustainability of the platform.

Why PowerShell Universal Fits at Devolutions

Devolutions’ focus on easy to use, accessible solutions for small and midsized businesses align directly with where PowerShell Universal succeeds. The Devolutions’ team has a track record of building products, like Devolutions Remote Desktop Manager, that sell themselves because users enjoy using them so much. This has always been the goal of PowerShell Universal and the community it has supporting it proves this. Devolutions’ exceptional expertise and focus on the future of IT, like contextual AI tools, directly integrate with what PowerShell Universal features provide.

What does the future of PowerShell Universal look like at Devolutions?

The next chapter of PowerShell Universal is focused on growth, collaboration and innovation. While we maintain the current functionality of PowerShell Universal, we will also be looking at leveraging Devolutions’ commitment to the PowerShell space with:

• Their protocol expertise with PowerShell Remoting to enhance how PowerShell Universal communicates across platforms in a secure manner.
• Integration with Remote Desktop Manager and Avalonia to provide seamless automation integration in a desktop interface
• Potential integration with offerings like Devolutions Gateway to allow PowerShell Universal to enable just-in-time automation across restricted environments — for example, performing remote password management or other administrative actions safely within isolated networks.

While these are just some early ideas for integration into Devolutions’ products and experience, there are many ways we can benefit both PowerShell Universal’s customers as well as build on top of the Devolutions’ portfolio of products.

As for myself, I will continue to drive innovation and improvement of PowerShell Universal at Devolutions. By combining our knowledge, technology and vision, we can take PowerShell Universal to the next level.
