PowerShell Universal v5.4 is now available. This release includes a number of new features and improvements. Below you’ll find some highlighted features as well as a roadmap for the next couple of releases. You can download the latest version of PowerShell Universal our download page. For a full list of changes, please visit our changelog page.
As always, we recommend testing this version in a development environment before upgrading your production environment.
The Admin Console command line tool allows administrators to quickly run commands as their account without having to setup tokens, scripts or terminals. Click the terminal icon in the toolbar to access the terminal.
Scripts will now include metrics for their pass rate, average duration and grouping of user, computer and environment.
A new job dispatcher service now provides a least busy load balancer. Rather than randomly selecting a machine to run a script, the load balancer will select the least busy server. The job dispatcher service also provides better insight into why a job is running on a particular machine. You can view the dispatch queue of each job to see why it was dispatched to a particular machine.
PowerShell Universal has been updated to target the PowerShell 7.5 SDK and .NET 9.0. This update provides better performance and compatibility with the latest versions of PowerShell. The Admin Console also benefits from big improvements to the underlying Blazor technology. You should notice increased performance and improved re-connect behavior. PowerShell Universal will continue to support PowerShell 7.4 for endpoints, scripts and apps.
The Admin Console now includes Danish translations. You can select Danish from the language dropdown in the bottom right corner of the Admin Console. Thank you to @mojoaar for contributing this translation!
We have also fixed numerous bugs and implemented smaller features that aren’t listed here.
